tibetanart.com does not ask for your name, email, or any other personal information. There is no account to create, no newsletter to sign up for, and no checkout. The site sells nothing.

Like nearly every site on the open web, the server that delivers these pages keeps short-lived access logs— a record of which pages were requested, the time of the request, the IP address the request came from, and the browser’s user-agent string. These logs are operational: they help us see whether the site is healthy, whether a deploy broke a page, and whether a particular artwork URL is being hammered by an automated scraper.

We do not run analytics, tracking pixels, advertising, A/B-testing tools, or any third-party tag manager. Nothing on this archive is designed to build a profile of you.

The site does not set any trackingcookies. A small number of strictly-functional cookies or local-storage entries may be used to remember non-personal display preferences — for example, whether you’ve switched the site to its dark theme. These never leave your browser and are not shared with anyone.

The site is hosted on a commercial platform and serves images from a separate object-storage provider. These providers will see the same kind of basic request data described above (IP, requested path, time) so that they can deliver the response. They are bound by their own contractual terms and do not receive any personal information from this site, because we do not collect any to give them.

Outbound links to other sites — academic resources, museum pages, publishers, glossary references — are subject to thosesites’ own privacy practices. We have no control over and take no responsibility for what they collect.

Because the site collects no personal information, there is nothing we hold about you to view, correct, export, or delete.

If you would prefer that the operational access logs not be kept at all for your visits, the simplest path is to use a privacy-focused browser or VPN of your choosing — we have no mechanism to opt individual visitors out of routine server logs.

If the substance of how the site handles data changes, this page will be updated and the “Last updated” date at the top will move forward. The current text always replaces any earlier version.
